The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren
Rick Warren is the founding pastor of Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, California. It’s a Christian Book sent by a room-mate of mine. It’s sort of a manifesto on the meaning of life, I know no much about the Christian though. The interesting spot of the book is that the author had arranged you a 4o-day task( 40-day spiritual journey), which means the book should be read step by step in 40 days.
Some quotes from the book:
The only time most people think about eternity is at funerals, and then it’s often shallow, sentimental thinking, based on ignorance. You may feel it’s morbid to think about death, but actually it’s unhealthy to live in denial of death and not consider what is inevitable. Only a fool would go through life unprepared for what we all know will eventually happen. You need to think more about eternity, not less.
“The battle for sin is won or lost in your mind. Whatever gets your attention will get you.”
“Don’t ever try to argue with the Devil. He’s better at arguing than you are, having had thousands of years to practice.”
“It is easy to get distracted, because Satan would rather have you do anything besides sharing your faith.”
